Pre-schoolers, parents dance in Tri-County flash mob

July 27 2015

The fountain at Tri-County Mall's center court became the setting for an impromptu dance party Saturday.

Students from Kids R Kids Learning Academy – some just barely old enough to walk – and their parents and teachers participated in a flash mob at 1 p.m. Saturday. They danced to a medley of songs spanning several decades, such as "The Twist" by Chubby Checker, "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees and "Macarena" by Los Del Rio.

Four-year-old graduates of Kids R Kids perform the same dance at their graduation ceremony, Kids R Kids spokeswoman Vickie Bruner said.

"It was something unique and different, and something parents can do with their kids," Bruner said.

Tri-County Mall gave their blessing for the flash mob before it happened, mall marketing coordinator Natalia Yaacob said.

"We are a family-centered mall," Yaacob said, "so anything that attracts parents and families that adds a little brightness to their days, we always welcome that."

Kids R Kids has five locations in the Greater Cincinnati area, including West Chester, Mason, Fairfield, Maineville and Liberty Township.
