How parents can be more involved with their child care center
November 03 2014
If you want to become more involved with your child care center, Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies has several suggestions such as getting to know the teachers and other parents. Being an involved parent is very beneficial to your child’s education and according to a report from the National Parent Teacher Association, children whose parents are involved have higher grades, better attendance and are better adjusted.
Want to become more involved? Here is how:
● Volunteer in your child’s classroom. Many child care centers are grateful for volunteers and will welcome parents who want to help. Ask your child’s teacher how you can get involved, whether it is volunteering for a special event or on a regular basis.
● Join the PTA. Nearly all schools have a parent teacher association and all interested parents are welcome to join. You will meet other parents, have opportunities to get involved with school events, fundraisers and much more.
● Create a network with other parents. Whether it is a message board, an e-mail group, or a Facebook group, technology makes it easier than ever to connect with other parents. You can discuss school events, classroom projects and more.
● Share your talents with your child’s classroom. If you can play a musical instrument, speak a foreign language, are an artist, or are skilled in some other activity, perhaps your child’s school will allow you to visit and showcase your abilities.
